The Nigeria Women U-17 national team have exited the FIFA U-17 Women World Cup after losing their quarterfinal match against USA, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

A goal in each half from USA, stifled every comeback attempt by Nigeria, winning the clash to progress into the semifinals.

The Nigerian team after going toe to toe against the powerhouse saw Blessing Ifitezue get injured before Peace Effiong came in for her after 16 minutes.

In the 41st st minute, USA took the lead through Kennedy Fuller who converted from the spot to put them 1-0 up after Shakirat Moshood gave away a penalty.

The score remained 1-0 in favour of the Americans who dominated the half at the Cibao Stadium.

The second half saw the Flamingos try get back into the game with Captain Afolabi hitting a shot that was saved by the goalkeeper on 63 minute.

Uzoma made another save to deny the Americans the second of the match before offside call minutes later.

On 73 minute, the Americans got their second, putting any thought of a comeback at the end of the game.
