Troost-Ekong will lead Super Eagles against Shevchenko’s Ukraine

Center-half, William Troost-Ekong will captain the Super Eagles in Tuesday’s International friendly against Ukraine in Kyiv according to footballlive sources

The development became a necessity after Skipper Ahmed Musa pulled out due to injury.

Ekong is next in line to the former CSKA Moscow forward in pecking order and has captained Nigeria a couple of times in the past.

Stoke City Midfielder Etebo Oghenekaro will deputize and will be next in line to wear the Captain’s armband.

Nigeria will play Ukraine on Tuesday at the DniproArena in Kyiv, it will be the first time the two teams face off at senior level.
