Super Eagles defender, Williams Troost-Ekong made a triumphant return to action, scoring the decisive goal as PAOK edged Bosnian side Borac Banja Luka 3-2, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Ekong in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League second-round tie featured for the whole duration of the encounter.
The Nigerian centre-back, who had been sidelined for five months due to an injury sustained at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, netted the winner in the 51st minute, securing a crucial advantage for PAOK.
With the score tied at 2-2, Troost-Ekong's strike proved the difference, marking a successful comeback for the defender.
The second leg is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31, as PAOK look to build on their narrow lead and advance to the next round.
