In a new report by insider Fabrizio Romano, Bordeaux seems to be just mere days away from signing highly-touted Leipzig prospect Gideon Mensah.
Mensah would arrive at the French club with a one-year loan deal with option to buy, according to Romano. The Ghanean was acquired by Salzburg in 2017, even though he still has not registered an official appearance for the club. He spent the last 3 seasons on loan at Sturm Graz in Austria, Zulte Waregem in Belgium and Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal.
The left-back is an interesting prospect, and at just 23 years of age, he has ample room to grow. Now Bordeaux will represent a new challenge to do just that, with the French club undergoing a delicate transitional period after they changed owners in June and were ones of the clubs hardest-hit by the pandemic, which exacerbated their already precarious financial situation.
