Newly promoted English Premier League club, Nottingham Forest have tabled offer for Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi, Nigeriasoccernet gathered.
Awoniyi who joined Bundesliga side Union Berlin permanently last summer from Liverpool after having a successful loan spell with the club could be on his way back to England after his splendid outing in the just concluded German Bundesliga season has made him a toast of many clubs.
Pushed Union Berlin to an UEFA Europa League place finish, Awoniyi stole the headlines on several occasions with his wonderful performance backed up with end products (goals).
As reported by BSNSports,BSNSports, the newly Nottingham Forest have opened discussion with the German club for the Nigeria international who has £20 million as release clause in his contract.
Forest could secure a work permit for the lanky striker this time having represented and played for Nigeria in the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon earlier in the year. Liverpool though were unable to get him the compulsory work permit which eventually led to his departure to Germany.
