The 25-year-old is under contract at Anfield until 2025, and with no decision yet made on an extension, the England international could depart the Reds this summer.

Real Madrid have previously been linked with a move for Alexander-Arnold, and whilst a deal has not yet materialised, with just one year remaining on his current contract, Madrid could use this to their advantage, with Liverpool reluctant to lose him as a free agent next year.

The chances of a departure could also increase following the end of Jurgen Klopp's reign as manager. The German has been replaced by Arne Slot and it is unclear whether the new boss will have any impact on Alexander-Arnold's chances of staying at the club.

The report reveals that he finds a move to the Spanish giants appealing and has been in contact with the club over the last month.
