Tottenham Hotspur's training ground was evacuated on Friday as a precaution after police inspected a suspected World War II bomb.
Met Police reported that "a suspected WWII ordnance was uncovered in the Tottenham Hotspur training ground," after which the area was evacuated and cordoned off.
But staff were allowed back in about 90 minutes later after specialists discovered that the piece of metal was not a hazard.
A Tottenham spokesperson told the Evening Standard: "An unidentified piece of metal was unearthed on the Training Centre site earlier this afternoon and, as a precaution, the Metropolitan Police cordoned off the surrounding area.
"The incident was cleared shortly after as the object was found to hold no danger."
Tottenham pictured players leaving the area later on Friday with no mention of the incident.
