A number of Ghanaian strikers are expected to move this summer with Abdul Majeed Waris, Frank Acheampong and Jordan Ayew amongst those expected to transfer.
Here is a lowdown of five Ghanaian striker expected to transfer this summer.
Waris Majeed
The Trabzonspor only moved to the Super Lig a year ago, but he is already been linked with a move away from Turkey. He suffered an injury-plagued campaign, and failed to score in 18 outings in the top flight.
However, he retains admirers, with Stade Rennais understood to be keen on bringing him back to France.
Jeffrey Sarpong
Ghanaian winger Jeff Sarpong was relegated from the Dutch Eredivisie with NAC Breda last season. However, the former Real Sociedad man is unlikely to have to slog it out in the Eerste division next season.
Instead, a return to Spain looks likely, with Malaga understood to be in talks with the player ahead of a possible return to La Liga.
Bernard Mensah
The Vitoria Guimaraes prodigy is enjoying quite a remarkable few months. The attacking midfielder made his Ghana debut on the back of a series of fine performances in the Portuguese top flight and has been tipped for a move away from Braga.
Manchester United have been linked to the 20-year-old, although the Red Devils may face competition from Benfica for the playmaker’s services.
Frank Acheampong
Back at the end of 2014, rumours first emerged linking Frank Acheampong with a move to Olympique de Marseille as a potential successor to Andre Ayew.
With Dede—as well as the likes of Dimitri Payet and Giannelli Imbula—having left the club, OM find themselves in need of an overhaul, and may still see Acheampong as an obtainable target.
The 21-year-old’s all-round game is not as accomplished as that of Ayew, but he would be a direct option for the Phoceens and would surely benefit from working with Marcelo Bielsa.
Jordan Ayew
The FC Lorient striker is another player who only swapped clubs a year ago, but already he is being tipped for bigger and better things.
The younger Ayew brother demonstrated his predatory instincts with 12 goals for the struggling Merlus, and both Girondins de Bordeaux and LOSC Lille have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old.
