England Under-19s maintained their one hundred percent record at the ongoing UEFA European U19 Championship after securing a hard fought 2-1 win over Croatia in their final Group B fixture on Monday afternoon.

Three players of Nigerian descent in the shape of Sheyi Ojo (Liverpool), Josh Onomah (Tottenham Hotspur) and Ademola Lookman (Charlton Athletic) started the game for Aidy Boothroyd’s side.

England opened scoring in the fourth minute through Brown after he received a pass from Sheyi Ojo, before an own goal by Silvio Anocic doubled their advantage six minutes later.

On 29 minutes, Lookman thought he had scored his first goal for England but it was waved away by the referee for offside.

With an eye on the semifinal clash against Italy on Thursday, the coach decided to rest the remaining Nigerian players Tammy Abraham, Dominic Solanke and Fikayo Tomori, who are all on the books of Chelsea.

England have already qualified for the 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup in Korea Republic.
