Thierry Henry Reveals Why He Would Have Loved to Have Played With Toni Kroos

"?Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry has heaped praise on Real Madrid and Germany midfielder Toni Kroos following his man of the match performance in a 2-0 win against Ukraine.

Kroos dictated play and provided the assist that saw Shkodran Mustafi score the opening goal in what proved to be an accomplished display.

Henry has admitted that Kroos is the exact type of player that he would have enjoyed playing alongside as he naturally tends to play the ball forward.

"I would have loved to have played with him [Kroos] because every time he wants to play it forward and never will a centre-forward tell you he doesn't like that," he said on BBC's Match of the Day, via Squawka. "He's just a joy to watch."?

Despite their 2-0 win, Germany were left with plenty to consider after Ukraine tested and exposed weaknesses in their tactics, especially in the first half.

Kroos has said that, victory aside, Germany are tending to their wounds and preparing for their next match.

"This is just the beginning," he said. "Winning 2-0 and not conceding is great for self-confidence. We had our impressions throughout this game, we passed well in the spaces.

"The last 15 minutes before half-time were not too strong, so we couldn't have complained had we conceded. But we dominated the game in the second half and I don't remember us conceding any chances.

"We're not at the level that we want to achieve in this tournament but it's quite a nice feeling."
