According to Sky Germany, the 24-year-old is reportedly set to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr in a deal worth over 50 million euros ($52 million).

Boniface, who joined Leverkusen from Belgian Union Saint-Gilloise 18 months ago, has been absent from training ahead of Wednesday's Champions League match against Sparta Prague.

Leverkusen boss Alonso said: "There are discussions with the club, and we need to wait. We're preparing without Boni... We'll see. We need a bit more time."

During his debut season, the Nigeria international was instrumental in Leverkusen’s success, helping the club win the Bundesliga, German Cup, and German Super Cup in 2024.
