Taiwo Awoniyi is not slowing down on his blistering start to the season with Nottingham Forest proving again how important he is to Steve Cooper's Reds by setting up debutant Callum Hudson-Odoi for a stunning goal to rescue a point in the thrilling 1-1 draw with Burnley.

The Reds carved out their first real chance on 16 minutes with Taiwo Awoniyi dispossessing Jordan Beyer high up the field and finding Hudson-Odoi's whose first-time effort was parried away by James Traffor, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.

Just minutes after the half time break with both sides goalless, Cooper rang the changes early in the second half with Nuno Tavares replacing Gonzalo Montiel at full-back.

On the hour though, Forest got themselves back on level terms in impressive style as Awoniyi kept play alive and teed up Hudson-Odoi who composed himself on the edge of the area before bending his right-footed strike into the top corner in off the post.

Seven minutes were added on at the end of the second half after Awoniyi made way for Chris Wood, as Burnley were then reduced to ten men following a VAR check, Foster was dismissed for an off-the-ball incident with Yates.

While the 26-year-old played for 88 minutes his Nigerian teammate Ola Aina was 90 minutes of action.

It is now back-to-back assists for Awoniyi who also set up the goal in his side’s 1-0 win at Chelsea and he has scored three goals in five league appearances this season.
