Swansea City: Wilfried Bony Unlikely to Return to Club This Summer

Published on: 12 June 2016

Former Swans striker Wilfried Bony will reportedly not be returning to the club, despite suggestions that Swansea will be looking for at least two forwards in the transfer market.

As reported by "?South Wales Evening Post, the Premier League side are on the verge of offloading Alberto Paloschi which has sparked rumours that Bony could return to the club following a relatively unsuccessful tenure at Manchester City.

Paloschi leaving would follow the departure of Eder who has agreed a move to Lille, whilst Bafetimbi Gomis and Andre Ayew's futures are also both in doubt. With all of these potential exits it would seem logical that Bony would see a move back to Wales as an option, however that isn't the case.

The 27-year-old was a fan favourite at the Liberty Stadium during his time there but has been unable to replicate that form at the Etihad following his move in the 2015 January transfer window.

It goes without saying that re-securing his services would come at a price, both in terms of the transfer fee itself and also the striker's wages.

In terms of Paloschi, he has been widely rumoured to be set to sign for Italian club Atalanta, although no deal has been formally agreed between the clubs as of yet.

Ayew has been linked to a number of other Premier League sides, including Sunderland and Liverpool, but manager Francesco Guidolin is supposedly very keen to keep hold of the Ghanaian star.
