Enyimba coach Finidi George believed his team could have done better in the goals his side conceded in their matchday 1 encounter in the Nigeria Professional Football League Super Six Playoff against Remo Stars, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Aba giant on two occasions threw away the lead and play out a 2-2 draw against Remo Stars in one of the five games that will determine the winner of the NPFL for 2022/23.
While Adiele Eriugo opened the scoring in the second half after a goalless halftime but the lead only lasted for just 14 minutes after Junior Lokosa’s goal for the Sky Blue.
Just when Enyimba thought they will run away with three points after the league top scorer, Chukwuemeka Obioma got the second goal for the People’s Elephant, Junior Nduka equalized for for the Ikenne based team.
“It’s just a matter of concentration because if you look at the goals we conceded I think they were cheap goals, we would have defended those goals better,” Finidi said after the game.
“It was an open game, we had a couple of chances we would have won it but they came fighting back and they got the equaliser.
“But that’s football for you so we have to go back and see how we can psyche the players for the next game."
