Rivers United manager, Stanley Eguma has urged his players to keep the winning mentality following their victory over Sunshine Stars in matchday 1 of the Nigeria Professional Football League Super Six Playoff, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Pride of Rivers on Saturday evening defeated the Akure based club 1-0 with Ebube Duru scoring from the center spot.
Eguma after the game at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, claims stating with victory is important and his players need to keep the mentality.
“It was crucial we began with a victory just to keep the winning mentality going,” he stated in a chat with the media after the game.
“We know their game so we had to make some tactical adjustment which gave us victory.
“Overall, it was a good game from both sides.”
Rivers United will play Remo Stars on matchday two of the playoff on today on same ground.
