Success Makes 1st EPL Start As Watford Bag Away Win; Balogun Benched In Brighton Defeat At Newcastle

Super Eagles striker Isaac Success made his first EPL start of the season for Watford who beat home side Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 at the Molineux Stadium Wolverhampton on Saturday.

It was also Success’ ninth appearance of the season for the hornets in the Premier League. His first eight games were as substitute.

Etienne Capoue and Roberto Pereyra scored in the 20th and 21st minute respectively to hand the Hornets a comfortable win.

At St James Park, Leon Balogun was benched in Brighton and Hove Albion’s 1-0 loss away to Newcastle United.

Beram Kayal was the match winner for the Seagulls.

The Nigeria international has failed to play a game in Brighton’s last five EPL games.

At the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City spanked Burnley 5-0.

Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva, Fernandinho, Riyad Mahrez and Leroy Sane were all on target for City in the encounter.

At the Olympic Stadium, Erik Lamela scored in the 44th minute as Tottenham Hotspur defeated West Ham 1-0.

At the Vitality stadium, AFC Bournemouth played out a goalless draw at home to Southampton.

At the Cardiff stadium in in Wales, Fulham lost 4-2 away to Cardiff City in another EPL game.

Andre Schurrle gave the visitors, Fulham the lead but Josh Murphy restored parity.

Bob Reid made it 2-1 for Cardiff City but Ryan Sessengon drew Fulham level before the break.

In the second half, Callum Peterson and Kadeem Harris scored to hand Cardiff City a big home win.
