South Africa legend Benny McCarthy encourages under-fire striker Tokelo Rantie ahead of Ghana clash
Legendary Bafana Bafana striker, Benni McCarthy, has thrown his full support behind national team forward Tokelo Rantie ahead of the team's crucial must-win Group C encounter against Ghana later tonight.
Rantie has come under a lot of scrutiny during the Afcon tournament for his missed chances, most notably the penalty against the Desert Foxes which eventually saw Bafana losing the game 3-1.
'TK' and Benni enjoyed a formidable strike partnership during their days at Orlando Pirates during the 2011/12 season.
Benni left a message of support on TK's official instagram page, which read, "Hey TKZee, good luck tonight, Take it upon yourself to inspire and the rest will follow.
"Remember playing Cosmos in P.E. how you change our seasons fortune? Tonight is no different gazi. I know you got this, handle ur business gazi. Good luck nah."
Rantie, who finished as Bafana Bafana's top goalscorer in the Afcon qualifying campaign with four goals in six outings, is yet to register a single goal at this year's showpiece event in Equatorial Guinea.
