SOSEF donate sports equipment to Delta Community School

27th day of June 2024 was a joyful day in Agbogiame community in Ughelli South local government area of Delta State. As the only school in the community, received for the second time in 3 years, sports equipment which include 100 complete tailor made jerseys, a dozen footballs, cones, markers and batons, courtesy of Sam Okpodu sports and education foundation SOSEF as made available to Nigeriasoccernet.com.

The ceremony which brought excitement to the pupils and teachers of the school was attended by Chief Johnson Boro, a notable community leader represented by his wife Chief Mrs Uruemu Maria Boro, the President General of the community, Mr Osieta Emmanuel, the Chairman of the PTA Mr Austin Oriesa and other community leaders.

The Headmaster Rev Emakpor Obukowho Jacob in his remarks said SOSEF is a blessing to the school and community at large. The activities of the foundation is impacting positively in the school in attracting more pupils to come to school. He said since 2021 to date the school field is cleared and maintained by SOSEF, making it look attractive for use.

He appealed to the community leaders to support SOSEF and the school for development of Agbogiame. SOSEF, pays a football and an athletic coach, to train the pupils weekly and also offers scholarships to indigent pupils with high potentials in sports.

In his remarks, comrade Chief Emoghene Friday, the Sports Officer LGEA Ughelli South, said the foundation has made the community of Agbogiame, the envy of surrounding villages and towns and believes in the power of sports to shape the pupils as leaders of tomorrow.

The Vice- Chairman of SOSEF, Mr. Edema Fuludu, made the presentation as representative of Sam Okpodu, ably assisted by Chief Eloho Gloria Erimu, a trustee and organizing secretary of SOSEF.

The items were presented to the HM by Mrs Uruemu Maria Boro. The Boro's in their usual philanthropy used the opportunity to also donate exercise books to the school. Mrs Boro called on the teachers to support the HM and the sports teacher for the good of their pupils.

The children and entire community prayed specially for Sam Okpodu, to have good health and enablement to continue to support them as a son of the community.
