Six African teams battle for Dominican Republic spots

The heat is on in Africa's U-17 Women's World Cup qualifiers with six nations – Burundi, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Zambia, and Liberia – emerging from the playoff rounds to fight for the final three spots in the Dominican Republic tournament, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.

Burundi crushed Djibouti 18-0 on aggregate, while Nigeria, the reigning champions, thrashed Burkina Faso 13-1. Morocco mirrored their 4-0 first-leg win against Algeria with another dominant performance in the return match.

Kenya and Zambia are set for a thrilling two-legged tie after Kenya edged past Ethiopia and Zambia defeated Uganda by a narrow 2-1 margin.

Liberia will battle Nigeria after overcoming Senegal on away goals following a dramatic comeback.

The three victors from these final qualifiers will join the Dominican Republic and other qualified teams on the world stage.

The first leg matches kick off on June 7th, with the return legs scheduled for June 14th across Africa.
