Shooting Stars chairman Taiwo Lekan Salami says his players are fully motivated to complete their progress in the CAF Confederation Cup against CS Sfaxien.
Salisu Yusuf’s team take a narrow 1-0 lead to Tunisia for the second leg of their first preliminary-round tie at the Taieb Mhiri Stadium in Sfax on Sunday night.
Shooting Stars must avoid defeat to qualify for the next round, although Salami believes the Nigerian club are capable of winning the match.
“The boys are charged and motivated,” Salami told 3SCFANTV.
“It’s been okay. I mean, a very lovely place. The boys are charged and motivated.
“The expectation is very simple, actually. We need to qualify. That means we need to either win or draw this encounter.
“I know we’re not going to lose, so I believe that we’re going to win this match. That’s what we’re going out for. And once we do, we know we’re in the next round.”
Salami said the squad understood what was required and remained focused on securing qualification against the Tunisian side.
The Ibadan-based club’s advantage came from the opening leg, leaving them with a one-goal lead to protect in Sfax.
