Shooting Stars defender, Utin Ikouwem was awarded the Man of the Match honor after his impressive display against Enyimba in the final game of the Nigeria Professional Football League season, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
At the Lekan Salam Stadium on Sunday, the Oluyole Warriors played a goalless draw against Enyimba with an outstanding performance from Ikouwem.
The left-back who joined the Ibadan based outfit after a shot stint with Croatia’s Slaven Belupo was instrumental in helping Shooting Stars secure a point.
The 21 year-old defender won the 2018 Nigeria’s young player of the year. He was formerly playing for Enyimba between 2017 to 2019 before he joined Israeli side, Macabi Haifa.
After moving to 3SC in the mid season, Ikouwem featured seven times for the Gbenga Ogunbote’s led side as he helped the team secure their Premier league status.
