Shocking: Dream Team boss Siasia unpaid for three months, team unprepared for U-23 tournament
Nigeria U-23s coach, Samson Siasia, has that he is owed three months salaries and the team is not well prepared for the 2015 Africa U-23 Nations Cup, while also stating they have been treated like orphans by the Nigeria Football Federation.
Siasia has endured a torrid time trying to put together a squad for the competition with clubs holding on to their players as the season hits the home stretch.
He has now come out to blast the NFF and said he should not be held responsible if the country fail to qualify for the football event of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
"We are like orphans. People see the finished product, but they don't know what we pass through," Siasia told Brila Fm on Wednesday.
"We have not been paid for the past three months.
"It took me so much courage to come out with this, but it is embarrassing. We don't have training kits up till now, we wash and wear.
"The Super Eagles got extra bonus for playing a draw and qualifying for the African Nations Championships and they keep saying there is no money.
"The NFF know exactly what to do. We have weeks just before our first game. We are liars in this country. The NFF keeps telling us there is no money. We can't just sit here, be quiet and die.
"Whatever happens I should not be held responsible, I thought the Olympics was important to them."
