Following his season opener against Hellas Verona on Monday night, Victor Osimhen has stated he has no goal target for the season, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

The Super Eagles striker started the season the way he probably had wanted banging a goal and an assist as Napoli spanked Hellas Verona 5-2 to move top of the Italian Serie A table.

Speaking to DAZN after the game, Osimhen said:

“I’m really happy, it was important to start well.”

“I am not the kind of player who sets a target for goals. I want to help the team by scoring, the team comes first," he responded when questioned about his goal target for the season.

Osimhen who was sent out during pre season training by coach Spalletti for a clash with teammate stated there is no love lost between himself, the manager and the teammate with which he clashed.

"Spalletti trusts me and we are on good terms.

“Two minutes before the goal, he ( Kvaratskhelia) told me that he expected me to score. We are on good terms, I’ve been here for three years and am helping him settle in. We’ve seen what kind of player he is," he added.
