Serie A: Fabio Capello admits Ademola Lookman's continuity could play major role in Atalanta's campaign

Fabio Capello, former Real Madrid gaffer has given his perspective on the rift between Ademola Lookman and Atalanta, weighing the Bergamo's club chances ahead of the new season post Gian Gasperini's era, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Atalanta are keen on holding onto the 2023 Europa League success hero and has rejected Inter Milan's offer on multiple occasions to bring him to the Sansiro this summer, a situation that has created distance between them and the player who feels extremely betrayed by the club.

"The Lookman affair is a significant one. We're talking about a player who has made a significant impact in recent years, both in terms of goals and assists,", Fabio explained to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

If he were to stay, he would still be a key figure. If he were to leave, however, Atalanta would be forced to reinvent much of their attacking potential."

Capello has no doubts about the club's value: "In Bergamo, there's organization, passion, and a solid project. But the Lookman case remains the real deciding factor in determining how far this Atalanta can go."

After several days marked by silence, unexplained absences, and noticeable tension, Ademola Lookman is beginning to reveal a different side of himself.
