According to "?Di Marzio, as quoted by the "?Daily Express, Chinese investors are currently negotiating a deal to hold a controlling stake in Milan with club president Silvio Berlusconi, which will allow the club to make an number of marquee signings, including Vazquez.

The Italian international will be offered a contract to move to the San Siro, but not before June 15th, with the sale of the club to the Chinese investors possibly effecting the price of the 27-year-old.

The Palermo star has impressed in Serie A this season, providing eight goals and seven assists, leading to attraction from a large number of top clubs in Europe, including Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

New United boss Jose Mourinho is interested in offering the player a sizeable contract, while Mauricio Pochettino is also monitoring the situation, after Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini admitted the Italian is likely to leave the club this summer: "We won't hold on to Vazquez".

However, Di Marzio has suggested that seven-time European champions are favourites to land the midfielder, with the two clubs involved already discussing the possibility of Vazquez switching to Milan.

According to the "?Rossoneri Blog however, the stalling of the takeover is causing problems for Milan, with the delay from the Chinese investors already costing them the chance to acquire Sevilla manager Unai Emery, who is reportedly off to Paris Saint-Germain in the near future.
