Egypt-based in-form Ghanaian striker John Antwi could be on the verge of a bumper transfer move to Saudi giants Al Shabab following his recent excellent showing.
Al Shabab have slapped in €2m as their offer to help them sign the striker from Egyptian side Ismaily.
The six-time Saudi league champions are hoping to use the offer to lure Ismaily to sell the leading scorer in the Egypt top-flight as they have been reluctant to let him go until summer.
However, Al Shabab are confident that the huge offer could force Ismaily to sell the striker who has been the target of several club in the Arab world and Europe too as well.
"We already had some offers for Antwi but we can’t let him go before finding a replacement. That is unlikely to happen this January,” Ismaily president Mohammed Abou-Seoud had said in a recent interview.
"I have talked to Antwi and we agreed that he will leave if he gets a suitable offer but also when the time is good for us."
Ismaily were willing to led their Ghanaian striker to go for $1.5m but with an offer close to two times more than their asking price it could force them to sell the striker quickly.
Egyptian giants Al Ahly, Tunisian side Esperance and recently Al Nasr Club of the UAE are all interested in buying the striker while clubs in Belgium and France are also keen on the Ghanaian striker.
Antwi has scored 11 goals in 13 Egyptian Premier League games for Ismaily this season.
