Sampdoria’s new signing Ebenezer Afriyie Acquah has announced his readiness for Saturday’s Derby della Lanterna against Genoa in the Serie A.
Acquah, who made his full debut last Sunday in the 2-1 reverse at Chievo Verona, was officially presented to fans on Tuesday.
The Ghana midfielder is on a six-month loan spell from TSG Hoffenheim having spent the first half of the season at Parma.
Acquah stated he looking forward to playing his first home match against Sampdoria’s sworn rivals.
" I'm happy to be here,” he said. “They explained to me immediately what accounts here. Antonio (Cassano) told me that this is a game (against Genoa) unlike any other.
“I am ready, and in games like this one, I always wants to take the field.
“There are so many Africans at Sampdoria and it’s the reason why I’m happy to be here.
“The role that I prefer? Given the choice I like to be right. We're fine. Last Sunday, we conceded a goal under two minutes and this affected the match.
“We have a very important match and we have to work to make it right. "
