Italian side Sampdoria have confirmed that their midfielder Afriyie Acquah has been called up by Ghana to face Mauritius in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier this month.
Sampdoria have revealed that the GFA has sent an invitation for the midfielder to turn up for training as the Black Stars begin their preparation for the match against the Southern Africans.
Though Black Stars head coach Avram Grant is yet to unveil his full squad for the game, the 22-year-old's inclusion is certain for the match expected to come off next month at the Accra Sports Stadium.
This means Acquah has maintained his place in the Ghana squad after shining at the 2015 AFCON where he helped the Black Stars to finish second, losing on penalties to the Ivory Coast.
Sampdoria have however not revealed whether Acquah's compatriot Alfred Duncan has also been handed a call-up.
Avram Grant is expected to name his squad for the game early next week.
