Sampdoria Coach Andrea Pirlo has praised Ebenezer Akinsanmiro for his performance in Sampdoria's win over Como in the Coppa Italia, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The 19-year-old made his debut for the Italian Serie A side in their 5-4 win on penalties over newly promoted side, Como after a 1-1 affair at regulation time.
The Nigeria youngster put up a fine display in midfield, playing for 76 minute until he was replaced by Benedetti.
After the encounter, former Italian legend and Coach of Sampdoria, Pirlo acknowledged the potential in Akinsanmiro who is on a season long loan from Inter Milan.
"Akinsanmiro can go on to be the best he can be if he continues to work hard," Pirlo remarked. "It's now in his hands, but he has great potential to become a key player for both club (Sampdoria) and country (Nigeria) this season," Pirlo added after the game.
Former Beyond Limits will seek to get better and prove his mettle as the Italian Serie A season is set to commence this weekend.
