The proposal of the Nigeria National League to have eight team promoted to the Nigeria Profesional Football League which will see the league teams expand to 28 teams has been criticised by coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr

Four teams were originally supposed to be promoted to the Nigeria Profesional Football League ( NPFL) from the second tier NNL via a playoff among eight team, but the board of the league association rose up to propos‎al having all 8 teams make the step up to the NPFL.

Yesterday, the club owners association of Nigeria rejected the proposal and forwarded their recommendation to the body formed by the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) to resolve the impasse.

Speaking on the issue, Rohr voiced his unhappiness over the plans insisting that it will make his job of scouting for players in the local league harder than it is right now and jokingly suggest that he would need at least ten scouts to effectively scout for players
