Head Coach of Super Eagles of Nigeria has confirmed on moves by the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) to cap Denmark U21 midfielder Philip Anyawu Billing.

Billing is still eligible to play for Nigeria courtesy of his father and Nigeria are pushing for his services after impressing this season for Huddersfield in the English Premier League.

Tall, imposing and highly technical on the ball, Rohr confirmed that the 22 year old met with one of his assistants who is based in London, which is no doubt Tunde Adelakun, same man Owngoalnigeria.com ?reported as the man assigned by the Franco-German coach to speak with Billing.

According to Rohr talks went smoothly with the midfielder but cautioned that since he is eligible to play for other countries things might not be as smooth as expected when it comes to pledging his allegiance to the Super Eagles.

“One of my assistants leaving in England saw him (Billing) and spoke with him,” Rohr told only the electronic version of Completesports Nigeria in Lagos on Monday.

There was a good contact but also we feel we have to be very cautious because the English Federation does not want to lose these players, we have to understand that also.

“The players have been formed and their academy work was done there (England) – the entire job done there. Now when the player is adult he says goodbye – I go with Nigeria. Not all those cases are pleasant. We have lots of cases like that in France with lots of Algerian players.”

“Lots of players l grew up in France and then they go to Algeria. It’s not easy to accept that.

“But they must really be motivated and excited to come with us. we will not push.”

“We can find players in the midfield, attack and in defence as well.”
