Nigeria Premier Football League side, Rivers United have left the country for a continental mission that ended halfway into the journey last season, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Port Harcourt based club in the CAF Confederation Cup will play Etoile Filante de Quagadougou of Cote D'Ivoire on Sunday 17th September 2023.
And ahead of the match, the 2022 NPFL champions left their base and connect with a flight to their West African neighbor from Lagos at about 10:25am.
Rivers United had a bye into the second round of the 2023 CAF Confederation Cup and so are making their debut this season on Sunday.
