Rivers United returned to the Nigeria Premier Football League with a win following their continental engagement in the CAF Champions League, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Pride of Rivers, smarting from their second round qualification in the CAF Champions League, defeated Niger Niger Tornadoes 1-0 in their rescheduled NPFL match on Wednesday.

Maclyn Biokpo broke the deadlock after  50 minutes of action following a handball in the box.

Rivers United held on to the lead to win their third match of the season by the same result in all of the matches. They have also played two draws, giving them 11 points in 5 matches.

The win takes Rivers United to third on the log, usurping Niger Tornadoes, which drop to fourth. Rivers have a pending game.
