According to Nicolò Schira, Sporting CP is negotiating with Inter Milan a permanent deal midfielder for Joao Mario, acquired on loan from Inter last October.
The portuguese, 28, appeared in 28 Primeira Liga games this season and without a deal would go back to Inter Milan as the loan ends. Sporting is confident they can secure a deal, given Mario is not in Inter's plans going forward and chinese ownership of the team needs to cut costs.
Joao Mario's agent Federico Pastorello, according to Schira, met with Inter brass to initiate talks. Sporting and Joao Mario have already agreed on a 4-year contract.
