Chelsea have reportedly retained a strong interest in securing the services of AS Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni. The West London club are one of a number of top European teams who have been credited as fans of the France international over the past 12 months.
Before they eventually secured a contract for Atletico Madrid’s playmaker Saul Niguez, there was talk of a big-money move for the 21-year-old. However, according to The Athletic, the Blues felt that Tchouameni would benefit from a further campaign representing Monaco in Ligue 1.
The central midfielder has played 42 times in all competitions during 2020-21 season, the first time that he has featured on more than 19 times in a single season. The Red Devils are also believed to be keeping tabs the situation ahead of potentially making an approach during 2022.
