Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would like to work with Jesse Lingard (28) beyond the season. "He still has one year of contract and of course the club is talking to him and his father," the Manchester United coach told media representatives, "we see him as a United player in the future too."

Lingard played the last second half of the season after a difficult time in Manchester for league rivals West Ham United. There, the English offensive man brought his faltering career back on track, scored nine strong goals, and provided five assists. Since his return to the Red Devils, Lingard has completed three short assignments.

On his debut for the Hammers on 3 February 2021, Lingard scored two goals against Aston Villa as West Ham won 3–1.
