Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola needs one more win to become the club's most successful manager.

Guardiola has taken charge of 302 games, with a sensational 72 per cent win rate, and ten trophies in five seasons.

He is widely considered the club's best ever manager, and has the silverware to show for it, but the statistics still saw him behind former boss Les McDowall in one key measure, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Before the win over Wycombe in the Carabao Cup, Guardiola had won 219 games compared to McDowall's 220 between 1950 and 1963. The 6-1 thrashing of the Chairboys sees Guardiola level McDowall and become the joint-most successful boss in City's history.

His record is more impressive when games played are considered, with Guardiola achieving the feat in 290 matches fewer than McDowall's 592.
