Fabrizio Romano has recently commented on Manchester City news, speaking on the potential future of Spanish international Aymeric Laporte in an exclusive with SportsIllustrated subsidiary City Xtra.

According to Romano, both Real Madrid and Barcelona have expressed interest in the Spaniard, but the present financial difficulties that have befallen both Spanish giants have made it tough for City to potentially move on from Laporte this summer.

He also reported that Manchester City presented Laporte to Tottenham in a player-plus-cash deal for Harry Kane, only to be turned down by the north London club. Laporte appears to be staying with Guardiola for season, however his future at the Etihad remains uncertain.
