As recently reported by English outlet Mirror, Chelsea's pursuit of Kounde continues.

The Ivorian international's performance at the Tokyo Olympic games impressed many, including Chelsea who have been on the player's trail for some time now. Earlier, it was believed that the london club would send Kurt Zouma plus cash to Sevilla in a swap deal to lower the Spanish club asking price. However, it now looks like Zouma has rejected a transfer to La Liga, preferring instead to stay in the Premier League as West Ham have reportedly made an offer to the defender.

Chelsea are now ready to offer Sevilla Brazilian Kenedy instead of Zouma, and the Spaniards look inclined to accept, as they like the player, who already knows Spanish football, since he played for Granada on loan last season. If this latest proposal does not go through, it was also reported that Roman Abramovich's club are ready to pay all cash in order to acquire the Ivorian, but they would rather avoid doing so for the moment.
