And after one of the scores, the Belgian made an awkward celebration by attempting a knee slide but was thrown heels over head.
Lukaku rushed to Instagram and Twitter after the game to apologize for his celebration's less-than-ideal outcome, writing: "No more sliding on my knees after yesterday's celebration..."
And Drogba, a Blues legend, responded with, "Hello doctor David, can you get him new knees?" and a slew of laughing face emojis.
Lukaku is off to a flying start at Chelsea following his big-money return from Inter Milan. He recently scored his first goal at Stanford Bridge in front of his club fans.
