Axel Tuanzebe has his heart set on a permanent move to Aston Villa after receiving his desired playing time under Dean Smith. The English centre-back moved to Aston Villa in the summer on a season-long loan move, but it appears his desire is to stay at the Villa Park for the long term and put an end to his career at Man United.

Axel’s loan move to Villa Park was initially sanctioned in the aftermath of Raphael Varane’s signing to Man United. Varane’s arrival saw Tuanzebe fall behind in the pecking order, with little to no opportunity of establishing himself as a first-team regular.

It led to a come back to Aston Villa, albeit on a loan deal. A product of the Red Devils youth academy, the 23-year-old defender had previously spent one and a half years at Villa Park on loan.

His contributions in the defensive third were, in fact, vital in helping the Lions gain promotion during the 2018/19 season, though unfortunately, Aston Villa was unable to secure his signing permanently in 2019.
