Police Arrest 21 England Fans as Euros Continues to Be Rocked By Shocking Scenes of Violence

As violence continues to rock the European Championships,"? reports have emerged that French police have arrested 21 England fans.

Amongst those being detained is a 16-year-old boy charged over throwing bottles and six of the fans will appear in front of a judge on Monday afternoon.

The French authorities have failed to arrest any of the Russian hooligans who instigated attacks inside the Stade Velodrome following their country's 1-1 draw with the Three Lions on Saturday, and chief prosecutor Brice Robin warned that they are trained fighters.

"There were 150 Russian supporters who in reality were hooligans" he told reporters at a press conference.

"These people were well prepared for ultra-rapid, ultra-violent action. These are extremely well trained people."

Robin said that some Russian supporters were blocked from entering the country on arrival at Marseille's international airport but others had avoided checks by travelling overland.

At least 35 people were injured in the mass brawls that took place in Marseille and England supporter Andrew Bache is currently fighting for his life in hospital after being repeatedly struck with an iron bar.

The 51-year-old suffered a brain injury and, according to a source close to the family, it could be life-changing.

The Portsmouth fan is in a serious condition but doctors can't assess the full extent of his injuries until he is taken out of an induced coma.

CCTV captured the incident and police will scour images in an attempt to track down the thugs.

Violence is threatening to overshadow the tournament and serious concerns have been raised over security.

Russia are set to play Slovakia on Wednesday in Lille, where England fans without tickets for the derby against Wales, which takes place in Lens 24 hours later, have been instructed to go.

UEFA fear more conflict will be sparked and calls have been raised for increased police presence.
