The 64-year-old Portuguese tactician took charge of the team's training session on Friday, just hours after being unveiled as the replacement for Christian Gross.

Peseiro, who previously managed Saudi Arabia and Venezuela, will debut as Zamalek boss in Sunday's clash with Petrojet.

"Happy, honoured to represent Zamalek! And with a lot of ambition," Peseiro wrote on social media platform X.

"The work has already begun and this is where all our focus and dedication lies. Making the fans proud is what we want!"

Zamalek, which has won the Egyptian league title a record 14 times, is looking to revive its season after a poor start under Gross, who left the club due to a contract dispute.
