Patrice Motsepe expects Nigeria to bid for World Cup

Confederation of African Football (CAF) president, Dr Patrice Motsepe has urged Nigeria to bid for the FIFA World Cup, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Motsepe who had a press conference ahead of the final match of the African Cup of Nations going on in Cote D'Ivoire addressed various issues concerning the continents football and the achievements of the 2023 AFCON.

The football administrator disclosed that the president of Nigeria, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be present in the final and he will be having a conversation with him for Nigeria to bid for the world Cup.

Asked by a Nigerian journalist, 'when can Africa host the World Cup again?'

The CAF president replied: "Nigeria must put in a bid. The Nigerian president (Bola Tinubu) is coming to watch the final on Sunday...I will have a conversation with him about it. "

The last time Africa hosted the FIFA men's World Cup was in South Africa in 2010 which the first time the continent hosted the global showpiece.
