Despite being pinned back for most of the game, the Super Falcons created several scoring opportunities, but failed to capitalize on them.

Waldrum lamented his team's inability to convert chances, saying, "We had three to four good opportunities today, regrettably, we did not convert them."

The American coach highlighted specific missed chances, including a breakaway in the first half involving Asisat Oshoala and Rasheedat Ajibade. "We had chances, regrettably, the Spanish converted theirs," he added.

However, Waldrum took pride in his team's performances against top-tier opponents, stating, "We lost to two of the best teams in the world... We have shown that we could have gotten something out of those matches. It shows we can play against anybody in the world."
