Osimhen’s Goal Not Enough Save Napoli From Chukwueze And Villarreal

Villarreal finalised their preparations for the return to competitive football with a 3-2 win over the current Serie A leaders at a legendary venue, the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona as two Nigeria’s biggest football export, Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze took center stage.

While Chukwueze started from the bench, Napoli star striker, Osimhen was in the starting line up for the host.

Villarreal went ahead through Etiene Capoue but Osimhen just seconds later equalized with a rocket keeping the game at 1-1 till halftime.

Five minutes after Osimhen was taken off in the second half, the yellow went ahead with a goal from Nicolas Jackson before Gerard Moreno gave Villarreal a 3-1 lead.

At this point Samuel Chukwueze was introduced but it was Napoli who reduced their deficit through Kvaratskhelia from the center spot.

Chukwueze’s next match will see his Villarreal return to official competition. They will face Guijuelo in the Second Round of the Copa del Rey.
