The visitors’ unbeaten record have also come to an end after 13 wins and 2 draws. While the Nerazzurri can boast of five wins in seven game against Napoli.
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen managed two shots and his overall impact in the game was very minimal.
The defeat means Napoli’s lead at the summit of the league to just five points after 16 round of matches and Inter who sit fourth are back on title contention
Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti after blamed the defeat on the fitness while he also take responsibility.
“We can offer more quality… Some of our players were a bit below par today,” said Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti.
“What I saw tonight was not what we’re capable of, so it’s my fault. We need to do more in training to find our form and fitness.”
