Southampton’s Senegalese attacking midfielder Sadio Mané on Sunday joined the rest of the Lions’ squad in El Jadida, Morocco, where Senegal are preparing for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
“He has arrived with the club’s doctor and was welcome by Youssou Camara (an official from the Senegal association) and Diakhaté from the Minister of Sports,” FSF President Augustin Senghor confirmed.
Injured against Arsenal in the Premier League on New Year’s day, Mané was however included in the 23-player list for the AFCON and will now be assessed by the Lions’ medical staff.
After defeating Gabon 1-0 in Casablanca on Friday in their first warm-up friendly, Senegal will face Guinea on Tuesday.
Senegal kick-off their 2015 AFCON charge in Mongomo against Ghana on 19 January.
