Onuachu dismisses Southampton return, prefers Trabzonspor

Southampton loaned striker, Paul Onuachu has ruled out a return to Saint Mary’s after spending last season on loan at Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports

Onuachu moved to Trabzonspor last summer following a challenging six-month tenure at Southampton.

Southampton, who acquired Onuachu from Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk for €18m, are looking to sell him for €15m.

The striker thrived in Turkey, netting 17 goals and providing four assists in 25 appearances.

Having rediscovered his minder’s touch, Onuachu according to Turkish outlet Kuzey Ekspres, prefers to remain in Turkey over a return to England.

Trabzonspor's attempt to extend his loan has been declined by Southampton.

With Southampton gaining promotion back to the top flight, it remains to be seen if the Saints will be keep their player or otherwise.
