Victor Osimhen’s representative, George Gardi, has shed light on the details behind the striker’s transfer, describing it as a long-term project and one of the best pieces of business completed by the club, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Speaking to Sky, Gardi explained that Osimhen committed to the move because of the club’s vision.

“I think he decided to sign for the club because of the project, and the project is not only for one year,” he said.

Gardi also confirmed that the forward’s contract contains no release clause adding that he does not believe the Nigerian star has a fixed price tag in the market.

He went on to reveal how the deal was accelerated after other transfer options collapsed earlier in the window.

“He was already on my radar, and when the window closed and other deals fell through, I stepped in straight away. I had a clear plan and only a few hours to put it into action.”

According to Gardi, Napoli initially valued Osimhen at over €100 million, but he successfully negotiated the amount down to €75 million while also convincing the striker to extend his contract by an additional year—an agreement that made the loan move possible.

“We’re talking about one of the best number nines in the world. Securing him for €75 million was an excellent piece of business for the club,” he added.

Osimhen’s transfer continues to generate strong reactions across Europe, with many describing the deal as one of the standout moves of the window.
